Happenings

Several cool things happened today:

• Our church tithes back to the district 10% of whatever we take in. I love giving personally and as a church. We were able to give a generous tithe to the district because our people gave generously to God in July. I was so excited to be able to give that check to the D.S. He was shocked and grateful as well.
  
• We appear have found a sound system. One of the big purchases that we knew we had to make in the next month was a sound system so that we can pull off our first preview service in Sept. We have been looking everywhere for a good system that we will be able to use both now as we are portable and in the future when our facility is ready to go. We found one in the classifieds that came out of a church plant that was meeting in a school. That is great because all the cases and what-not are already portable. SWEET! We are also getting a great deal on the system, probably paying less than half of what is is worth and probably 25% of what it cost new. It is in pristine shape and some of the equipment even looks new. God is good.
• I got a call from a lady that heard us cast our vision for Catalyst at the District meetings a couple of weeks ago. She gave me a lead of someone in the area that may be into what we are doing here in Rowlett. That was a neat call to get out of the blue.
  
• I am realizing more and more what an incredible wife I have. She had no idea what it was going to be like to plant a church and she is stepping up big time.
  
• Don't forget that if you are going to see Rob Bell this fall, you need to give Sprang your ticket money this Sunday.
