Blog Reading Grandma

The coolest thing just came to my attention. I just found out that my Grandma has been reading my blogs. I don't know why, but that just pumps me up. The other day I blogged about a David Crowder song that spoke to me. A couple of days later I get an email from my grandma letting me know that she had listened to the song and sent some encouraging words from her devotional time in the book of Ezra.

This is what she sent from a footnote in her Bible," Discouragement and fear are two of the greatest obstacles to completing God's work. Most often they come where and when you least expect them. Discouragement eats away at our motivation and fear paralyzes us so we don't act at all. Remember that God's people in every age have faced these problems and with God's help overcame them. By standing together with other believers, you can overcome fear and discouragement and complete God's will."

Those are powerful and encouraging words from my blog reading grandma. She is truly a remarkable woman. She and some of her friends meet once a week to pray. Not to pray for somebody's distant relative who is in the hospital. They pray specifically for the salvation of specific people. I just love the image of these retired women gathering each week in a living room and praying for God to soften the hearts of some folks that are living far from God. The last time I talked to her, they had seen 8 of these people begin a journey with Christ. That is AMAZING! Many of those people will probably never know that a bunch of grandmas had a lot to do with God's work in their lives.

Grandma, keep reading these blogs, keep praying for those that need God's grace, and keep praying that we will see some crazy God things happen out here in Texas.
