Sunday Recap

  • Good day overall.
  • We struggled to get a good sound mix all day. Probably our worst mix in weeks. I couldn't get it figured out yesterday.
  • I felt decent about the sermon. Content was solid, delivery could have been better.
  • The church we rent had some crazy decorative advertisment deals built off to the side of the stage. It was quite a deal, they used plywood, 2X4 s, and screws to mount the stuff. There was no moving it. It is simply part of the ride when we are in another church's sanctuary.
  • Had a ton of people gone yesterday. Small church is fine, but there is so much more energy in a room full of people.
  • The Quatro de Mayo Party was a huge success. We had more people at the party than at church and it was a ton of fun. Juan Lazo was the chef, he prepared the rice, beans, and grilled the fajita meat. Some of the best fajitas I have eaten. I am still full on Monday morning.
  • We gave away t-shirts to everyone that came. I think we are completly out. I told Sprang it is time for more t-shirts, a new design. T-shirt 1.2 I think in the future we will sell the shirts at cost to try and get more people to buy them and wear them. All future shirts will also have the web address in the design.
  • The poor pinata got smashed to bits. The kids had more candy than they could fit into their pockets. They were using the frisbees we gave them like plates to hold the candy.
  • The Quatro de Mayo party will have to become an annual event. We will adjust the date to reflect the Sunday before May 5th. Next year it will be the Tres de Mayo Party.
  • We gave a bunch of extra frisbees to some kids playing in the park, they loved them.
  • I am dragging today. Hopefully I will rest a little this afternoon, the rest of the week is shaping up to be very busy.
