Sunday Recap

  • My back was not in a good place on Friday and Saturday, but I really felt that God helped me on Sunday.  The pain was much less on Sunday and a few Advil helped as well.
  • Great Day at Catalyst.  We set an all time attendance record with 69 people.  We need to celebrate these small milestones as we are growing.
  • I walked in and saw a first time guest setting up one of the coffee serving tables.  One of our set-up team convinced a friend to come with them at 7:30 a.m.  How awesome is that?
  • Got to dedicate Annie Laurie on Sunday.  Very cool experience.  I just love the heart of the Penney family.  So much love in that home.
  • Music was great on Sunday.  Lots of good buzz about the acoustic set up.  I love switching things up.  I feel our worship is a balanced as it has ever been.
  • Felt good about the message.  James 3 just kicked everybody's butt.  That is a good thing sometimes.
  • Lots of guests on Sunday.  I LOVE IT! I wondered if we would see new faces once we moved out of Rowlett and we have seen a bunch over the last few weeks.
  • Lots of people hanging out after church chatting it up.  The linger factor is a good indicator of church health.  Do people bolt for the door or stand around yucking it up?
  • Which Wich for lunch.  I like it, but I am never full when I leave.
  • Headed over to Jono and Julie's house to watch some football.  Jono is a rabid Chiefs fan while Andrew loves his Broncos.  The Chiefs showed up for the first time in a long time.  Jono and Julie graciously got the vacuum out when they heard I was coming to get up the cat hair.  Mucho Gracias on that.
  • Went over to Chris and Sherri's house for dinner.  The food was great, but fitting all 8 members of the two families in the hot-tub was the highlight of the night.  We had a great time over there.
  • Sherri's sister called while we were ALL in the hot-tub and Chris told her that Sherri was in the hot tub with the pastor.  He forgot to mention that the pastor was also in there with his wife, 2 kids, and the Callahan kiddos too.  What a punk!  That is how church rumors get started.
