Life Update

Haphazard Update on Life, In Random Order:
  • Been selling stuff on Craigslist like crazy. Old stuff that has been lying around. Doing very well. Softball gloves, bat bag, tennis racket, old cell phone.
  • Coolest thing was a guy that emailed me about a glove I had on Craigslist for $15. Told me to take it off CL and list it on ebay. I did and the dumb thing sold for $65. Can you believe that? It was some special model that people want. Crazy huh?
  • Been buying stuff too, mostly stuff for my bike.
  • Finally went to the doctor for my shoulder. He confirmed what I was afraid he would confrim. No mountain biking for a month. It was the very reason that I had put off going. He said the biggest problems he has with "guys like you" are that you aren't patient enough to let things heal properly. I told him he was probably right.
  • I ride mostly with 4 guys. Blain, Lee, and Dan. Currently Dan and I are out of commission for a while. Dan took a nasty spill that resulted in multiple trips to the Chiro and eventually a MD. Lee took a nasty spill last Sat. and was sore on Sunday. Don't know how long he is out. Blain is healthy so far. Very unexpected as Blain is the eldest, the most geriatric member of the foursome I think. Dan maybe close or even older, hard to tell.
  • There were three accidents at the trails I usually ride this last weekend that resulted in 4 people being taken to the hospital, one in a helicopter. Anyone thinking these trails are for the faint of heart, you are mistaken my friend.
  • Heather and the kids were gone for nearly two weeks. I hate it when they are gone that long, but I managed better this time than in the past. I have learned that I have to keep my evenings full. Hang with people for dinner or disc golf or mtn. bike. Something to keep me out of the empty house until it is time to go to sleep.
  • Since I can't ride for a while, I have laced up the running shoes again. I am actually running faster since all the cycling in the last few months. Maybe I will find a 5k and do it in July.
  • Got my mind set on this for my bday. Looks so cool.

The fact the he is also in the mostest awesomest shape of anyone in the group helps too...plus the mostest skilledest...plus the bestest lookingest...don't believe me? Just ask his wife!

Lee may have something to say about "the mostest awesomest shape" comment.

Ok, I think I've got this thing figured out...Levi falls off of his bike...says he's fine...rides for a few weeks...then suddenly there is a series of bad wrecks on the trails...all his friends are getting hurt...now he says he's too hurt to ride...hmmm, do I smell a weenie cooking somewhere?

Listen here old man. "says he's fine" never came out of my mouth. I complained consistently like a weenie.:) And furthermore, I rode the weekend that all the wrecks happened. It is a good thing your son is a lawyer, cuz your logic won't hold up when I sue you for defamation of character... enjoy your ride tomorrow. I will be running on the hot concrete envious of you guys being on the trail.
