- It was an ok day at Catalyst. Not the best, not the worst. It was ok.
- THEOS, a band featuring our very own Jeff Croy, led worship and did a good job. We could have run them a bit louder but I think their sound guy was playing it safe.
- There was something that threw me off early in the day and I was "off" for the rest of the day. Shouldn't let that stuff happen, but it did.
- The sermon was much better on paper than what was delivered. Honestly, I thought it sucked. Never found a rhythym. Never found nothing. It was simply a dud, let's call it what it was. I would be pleased to hear that the recording did not happen and it won't be available on podcast.
- Realized how much I rely and count on Sprang and not just for music. He is a great right hand man and does a ton of behind the scenes stuff that makes my life easy.
- Very ready to have Sprang and the gang leading us in worship next weekend. I'm sure the break was good for the band.
- Proof that the sermon never connected: I used a MAKE BELIEVE story about me yelling at Addy and followed it up with an even more outlandish story, and Heather had all kinds of people asking her about me yelling @ Addy.
- Highlight of the day was sharing two meals with two different families. Something special about gathering at a table with friends. We share lots of meals with friends and I am convinced our lives are more fulfilled because of it.
- We are about to ramp things up at Catalyst. Get ready!!!!

quit beating yourself up. not all sermons can be home runs. i'm sure it wasn't as bad as you make it out to be.
I only know one person that would use the name tonail, so I will assume it is you Stan. I am not beating myself up, just being honest. Some weeks I post that I felt the message was solid. This week I didn't. It is all a part of being authentic for me. I don't want to say something was great when it was ordinary. The beauty of preaching is that it comes around every seven days whether we want it to or not.
Look on the bright side...at least your sermon didn't suck as much as my soccer playing ability!
Umm... your team won 4 out of 5 games. You couldn't have been too bad. We do need to edumacate you on soccer lingo so you know when we are calling for you to pass the ball.
How about..."Hey, pass me the ball". That's so simple even I can understand it :)
that takes to long, thus terms like, square, wide, through, all mean pass the ball and tell you where it needs to go all with one word.
Can you imagine a court full of people yelling, "hey pass me the ball..."? It would be crazy and you would have to look up to see where they were. Wide tells you they are on the side. Square means they are right next to you, and through means to play it down the field through a passing channel. Now you have been educated.
how about:
"how you with the ball who hasn't passed it to me all game. i was wondering if you wouldn't mind letting other people play and kick it. that may be too much to ask, but that's why i came out to play in the hot texas sun this evening...just saying."
i think that would work perfectly :P
LOL
I have no idea what you said. You lost me with the first word of "how"...
I got it just fine...does that mean anything?
If you understand this as a complete sentence, you may be a Dallas Cop:
"how you with the ball who hasn't passed it to me all game."
